Colorado- the state home to: 58 ‘fourteeners’, recreational use of marijuana, the 2016 SuperBowl champions, many beautiful national parks, and much, much more. With so much to do and see, these are the seven places that you can’t leave Colorado without visiting first:

1) Get scared while staying at the famous Stanley Hotel in Estes Park. The Stanley Hotel is best known for its appearance in Steven King’s “The Shining,” and is rumored to be one of the most haunted hotels in America.

2) Marvel at Hanging Lake. Although visitors are not permitted to swim in the water, the view is most definitely worth the drive and the hike up. Hanging Lake is located about seven miles outside of Glenwood Springs.

3) Rock out to your favorite band at Red Rocks Ampitheatre. Not a big fan of concerts? Red Rocks is also a great location to hike, work out, catch a movie, and even practice some yoga poses.

4) Sand-board or sand-sled in the Great Sand Dunes National Park. Be sure to rent a helmet for this oversized sandbox though! Sand is definitely different than powder.

5) Get spiritual in Garden of the Gods located in Colorado Springs. This Garden offers some of the most beautiful views in Colorado, and many easy to moderate hikes.

6) Party like a college student in Boulder. Boulder is known to be one of the happiest cities in America, and it is easy to understand why with the mountains so close, the shops of Pearl Street Mall, the many foodie stops, and one of the best Universities in Colorado. Sko buffs!!

7) Take a dip in Strawberry Park Hot Springs. Enjoy the natural hot tubs after a tiring day of hiking or skiing.
